A New Year Ahead of Us

I think a lot of us are happy to move in to 2021 and say goodbye to 2020. Last year was challenging and full of emotion. A great deal of sadness and loss was felt worldwide as we dealt with our new normal. Many of us have decided to focus on the unexpected blessings that came from isolation: time with our loved ones, organizing, more time to read and self improvement.

I pray that  2021 brings you hope and happiness.

"The critical component is faith in Jesus."

My name is LeeAnne Unruh. I was born and raised in Colorado but moved to Florida in 2005. Living away from my sisters and their families has been one of the most challenging things I’ve done. Though raised in Denver, I left the small town where I raised the kids and was a high school social studies teacher, soccer coach and youth worker. My heart has always been for teens and young adults (well, and people in general).

I have three biological children that are all grown now, two of them are married with children and the youngest just got engaged. After going through a divorce, I remarried, and am now also a stepmom to two young women.

I attend Bow Down Church in West Palm Beach where I am involved in their inner-healing ministry called “Unmasked”, as well as their women’s ministry. I have also taken on the role of spiritual parent to a young woman while she attends their discipleship ministry, Project 516 this year. This ministry aligns so well with what I do at Love’s Calling and it blesses me to use my gifts doing ministry I know God has purposed me for!

I have volunteered as mentor for MOPS, I have worked with youth for over 25 years and I have also done women’s ministry as well. Now that my mama years are over, Valerie Parks and I have met on many occasions discussing how we can use our experiences and wisdom to help the younger women face their challenges. The critical component is faith in Jesus. If we can help them see that they cannot do life without him, then we’re doing well.

I have come to realize the true importance of personal development & living with gratitude. Over the years I have connected with some amazing women and had the opportunity to chat with them about what brings them true happiness and contentment. Some have shared life experiences and valuable lessons. Others promote healthy living, family connection, or safe products. A number of women are working with charities, missions, and organizations geared toward helping others. They each value making a difference and are choosing to live a life with purpose. You can learn more about them above and in the Articles Tab.

When life isn't going your way . . .

Woman on Window Sill

Do you ever question why your life is not going according to plan? Generally, most of us have good intentions starting out, but inevitably we will experience hurt, set backs and disappointment in life. Just when we think we have everything figured out, circumstances will change yet again. The reality is that we have no control. Some doors will open and others will close. You may find yourself heading down a new path, often quite different from what you imagined. It can be a scary time, but in the future you will likely find yourself looking back and feeling thankful for that fork in the road, which ultimately brings you to happiness. There are lessons to take away from the hard times.
